Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation-BALOO
Saturday, September 14, 2002
This day-long training event is designed for the Pack leader who will give leadership to a Pack Overnighter and for those new to camping or who would like to improve their camping skills at the Cub Scout level. This is a fun course that provides immediately useable information on all the policies, equipment and activities that make a Cub Scout Pack Overnighter a success.
Topics include youth protection guidelines, health and safety, site selection, age-appropriate activities, and needs and requirements for an adequate number of adult participants at camping events. You will learn about all the changes in the Cub Scout camping policies including the need for a Council-approved local tour permit being required for all Cub Scout
campouts regardless of the closeness to the Pack home.
To be able to have a Pack overnighter, the leader of the camping event must be BALOO trained and possess the BALOO training card.
